Dimitra completed her Psychology degrees at Flinders and Adelaide Universities and has undertaken additional courses which include but are not limited to: Advanced Level CBT, Diagnosis and Treatment of Complicated Trauma, Sleep Difficulties, The Gottman Method (for couples therapy), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Psychological Management of Chronic Pain. She continues to diversify and refine her skills by attending various conferences and workshops around Australia. In 2010, Dimitra received a nomination for the Health and Rehabilitation Achievement Award.
Dimitra’s work before becoming a Psychologist included ethnic school teacher, behaviour therapist for children with disabilities, volunteer family support worker and support group facilitator. She works with individuals across the lifespan including children, adolescents, adults and couples. Dimitra works with a diverse range of cultural, health and lifestyle backgrounds and is passionate about working with clients to support their overall wellbeing, through helping clients understand behaviour, thoughts and feelings, for new insights, perspectives and understandings to be gained.
Dimitra is a Member of the Institute of Private Practicing Psychologists (IPPP), The Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI), an International Affiliate member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and an Associate Member of the Australian Society of Hypnosis WA.
